About these Images
Weather is the daily variation in climate, whilst climate is the weather people tend to expect at certain times of the year. The climate may be changing, but any change is slow, having a gradual impact on people and the environment. In some parts of the world the weather is as predictable as the climate, such as in the middle of a hot desert, whilst in London there can be major variations, such as on 27th May 2005, when the temperature jumped to 32-C for a single day (3-C hotter than Cairo in Egypt), before returning to the seasonal norm of about 19-C the very next day. The weather influences human behaviour in many ways, and sophisticated technologies are being introduced in an attempt to predict it with more accuracy, after all, not many people want to spend a day at the seaside, or paint their house in the pouring rain!
